Shannon started her registered nursing career on a telemetry unit in New York, but eventually went on to work as a registry nurse, floating to all heart, lung, and vascular units at the University of Tennessee Medical Center.
With over 17 years of experience in the healthcare industry and 10 years experience as a Nurse Practitioner, Shannon provides psychiatric care and consultation services in various settings including acute care, intensive care, emergency department, and the collaborative care model (CoCM) within patient homes and virtually.
Shannon’s experience also includes close to a decade of precepting psychiatric nurse practitioner students from the University of Tennessee and Lincoln Memorial University, as well as mentoring novice psychiatric mental health nurse practitioners.
